Opened in 1870, Cedar Point is often called “The Roller Coaster Capital of the World.”
It sits on a peninsula extending into Lake Erie, giving it a unique waterfront setting with beaches, resorts, and skyline views unlike most theme parks.
The park is 364 acres and has over 60 rides (20 of which are coasters).
Some of its most well-known roller coasters include:
- Millennium Force — the first coaster to exceed 300 feet and one of the most influential rides ever built.
- Top Thrill 2 — successor to the famous Top Thrill Dragster launch coaster.
- Steel Vengeance — widely ranked among the best roller coasters on Earth.
- Magnum XL-200 — the first “hypercoaster,” which changed coaster design forever.
- GateKeeper — famous for flying directly over the park entrance.
