The event is centered around people pitching ideas for new companies, apps, technologies, social-impact projects, and AI-powered startups.
15 finalist teams from around the U.S. are competing in Detroit.
The top 3 teams advance to the World Final in San Francisco in June.
The global grand prize is $100,000 plus mentorship and startup resources.
