
Detroit’s historic Old Shillelagh Irish pub was opened in March 1975.
Before Old Shillelagh was here, the place was called Terrible Tony’s Saloon. It was run by Campbell Ewald ad man, “Terrible” Tony Nelson. Prior to that, it has been various bars since the building opened in 1890.
It is regularly voted one of the best St. Patty’s Day parties in the USA, boyo.
