620 is the annual celebration of the scientific psychedelic renaissance.
Psychedelics are a broad class of drugs defined by their ability to induce an altered state of consciousness that can transform your worldview and sense of self.
The “main” psychedelics are considered:
LSD (acid)
Psilocybin (mushrooms)
Mescaline (peyote)
DMT (ayahuasca)
MDMA (ecstasy)
Ibogaine
Ketamine
5-MeO (the bufo toad)
Many of these have been safely used for thousands of years in both spiritual and medicinal contexts, and a number of recent clinical successes have spurred a renewed interest in developing psychedelic therapies.
Things to remember when taking Psychedelics:
1.) Psychedelics are not for everyone (especially those with psychosis or severe mental illness) and they are not a cure-all panacea.
2.) Take them in a safe setting (preferably beautiful day outdoors in nature), with a safe group of people (trusted friends, not random strangers), and make sure you are in a good upbeat mood/mental state (don’t take them when you’re sad or depressed).
3.) Psychedelics are not “enlightenment”. However, they are indeed amazingly powerful tools to explore your own psyche and being.
4.) Psychedelics are not addictive, they’re not habit-forming. They are far safer (and more therapeutically effective) than nicotine, alcohol, and many “legal drugs” prescribed by Big Pharma.
5.) If you are inexperienced with psychedelics, it is highly recommended that you take them in the presence of a Guide (ie: someone who is very experienced with them; the nickname for that person is usually “Ground Control”) for best results.
6.) Remember to stay hydrated with WATER. And breathe deeply and calmly. Controlling your breathing helps tremendously.
7.) If for some reason you are having a “bad trip” or experiencing negative thoughts or ruminating cul-de-sac loops of gloom that you can’t seem to get out of, just remember that the effects are temporary and will wear off. You can put yourself into “good trip” mode anytime you want to via the sappy sounding but effective “power of positive thinking”.
8.) Positive, chill, upbeat music always helps keep your trips positive, chill and upbeat. Try stuff like Ayokay-Kings of Summer, Michael Franks-Under the Sun, Vinicius de Moraes – A Tonga Da Mironga Do Kabuletê, Michel Polnareff-Polnareve, etc. Music is powerful, don’t underestimate it.

Types of Psychedelics by Differences in Chemical Structure
Psychedelics can be further divided into other types of psychedelics, based on what their chemical structure looks like. For example, there are:
- Tryptamines (structurally similar to the brain chemical serotonin)
- Phenethylamines (structurally similar to the brain chemicals epinephrine and norepinephrine)
- Ergolines (they have a core molecule of ergoline and are derived from ergot)
Psychedelic Tryptamines
- Psilocybin and psilocin (the active ingredients found in magic mushrooms)
- N,N-Dimethyltryptamine (DMT)
- 5-MeO-DMT (bufo alvarius)
- Bufotenin
- Ibogaine
- 4-HO-MET
- 5-MeO-DiPT
- DPT
- MET
- 4-AcO-DMT
Psychedelic Phenethylamines
- Mescaline
- MDMA (‘ecstasy’)
- MDA
- 2C chemicals (e.g. 2CB, 2CI, and 2CE)
- Bromo-DragonFLY
- DOM
- DOI
- NBOMe
Psychedelic Ergolines
- LSD
- LSA
- AL-LAD
- ALD-52
- 1P-LSD
