At the USCG Aviation Technical Training Center in Elizabeth Center, North Carolina, an almost impossible Test is designed to weed out non-hackers:
– Swim 500 yards in 12 minutes
– Run 1.5 miles in 12 minutes
– Do 40 push-ups and 50 sit ups in 2 minutes each
– Do 3 pull-ups and 3 chin-ups without stopping
Out of thousands of people, only 25 applicants per year pass The Test.
These applicants then go on to complete an 18-week training course at the USCG ATTC. Afterwards, it is mandatory that graduates attend Coast Guard EMT school in Petaluma, California.
