Michigan’s Great Lakes are a global shipwreck hotspot.
The Michigan Shipwreck Research Association (MSRA) find, study, document, and share the history of underwater shipwrecks.
MSRA engages in real exploration with sonar and dive teams in Michigan’s Great Lakes. The wrecks are treated as scientific and historical sites.
They are underwater historians & explorers focused on uncovering and preserving Michigan’s lost ships. This is part history/ part detective work because most shipwrecks are lost, poorly documented, or unexplained.
In 2015, MSRA famously found the SS John V. Moran (1899) which is widely considered to be one of the best preserved wrecks ever found.
Every year, MSRA hosts an annual show. Come check it out.
