The annual Detroit Stiga Table Hockey Championships are coming up.
This is a competitive tabletop hockey tournament featuring Stiga, a brand/style of table hockey that uses rods to control players.
It’s part of an international competitive circuit sanctioned by USTHA (U.S. Table Hockey Association) and ITHF (International Table Hockey Federation).
Main event features Stiga rod hockey. Side event features Coleco, another style of tabletop hockey.
Stiga started producing table hockey games in 1957. Their version became the global standard for competition because Stiga introduced improvements like smoother rod mechanics, better puck movement, and standardized player stick orientation.
