Boaters are encouraged to prepare for the upcoming boating season by reserving slips today. The Michigan Department of Natural Resources reports Lexington State Harbor in Sanilac County is reintroducing 10 seasonal slips this season for boats measuring at least 45 feet in length.

“We are going to offer six 45-foot slips and four 60-foot slips for the 2016 season,” said Mark Sine, park supervisor for Lexington State Harbor. “Seasonal slips for boats smaller than 45 feet will be referred to the local commercial marina.”

Once these 10 seasonal slips are filled, additional interested boaters will be added to Lexington State Harbor’s waiting list.

Rates will be calculated by boat length and based on the Rate 4 scale. Conditions may apply to the rental of slips depending on use and time of year.
