One hour NW of Saginaw, almost in the bulls-eye center of the state of Michigan is the city of Beaverton, Michigan.
Wixom Lake is a 2,000-acre lake in Beaverton and Pontoon Alley is a popular sandbar on Wixom Lake.
Every July 4th weekend, they have a big boat party here.
Wixom Lake was created in 1925 via a dam when two rivers, the Tittabawassee and Tobacco, were merged together.
70% of Wixom Lake is 15-feet deep or shallower and has a sandy bottom and thankfully, very few submerged tree stumps.
Fishing is popular here, especially bluegills and bass.
