The Saxons are invading! The Vikings have to defend the Canton of Brackendelve!
The organizers suggest everyone to make a small donation to Historic Fort Wayne.
Spectating is open to the general public.
This incredible event is brought to you courtesy of The Society for Creative Anachronism, an international living history group founded in 1964.
Their aim is to accurately recreate the Medieval experience of life before the 1600’s.
Michigan is in The Middle Kingdom (aka: Midrealm). Here the commander of the castle is Lord Jack Black of Flint.
Historic Fort Wayne in Detroit is a tremendous spot for a battle. It’s a real fort, founded in 1829 and used to house Civil War, WWII soldiers, etc.
