Kensington Metropark is a huge, beautiful, sprawling 4,481 acre park which has over 2.5 million visitors per year.
Opened in 1948, Kensington Metropark is 6-miles long and 3-miles wide and offers:
Hiking, canoeing, fishing, biking, picnic areas, 18-hole golf, 24-hole disc golf, horseback riding, the Splash N” Blast water park and more.
For boating, there are 3 marinas, 16 boat ramps and 93 slips.
Inside of Kensington is beautiful 1200-acre Kent Lake (average depth 6-10 feet) and you can tour this lake via the Island Queen III.
The Island Queen III is a 46-passenger pontoon boat and it’s $6.00/person.
The boat leaves on the hour from Noon-6pm (Mid-May to Mid-October)and takes passengers on a 45-minute long guided tour around the lake.
The boat is propelled by two Mercury Seapro 115’s.
Be on the lookout for several bald eagles in the trees while touring the lake.
