America’s Classic Ballparks - Tiger Stadium

The History of Tiger Stadium” program covers the 104 years, 1896-1999, that the Detroit Tigers played baseball at 2121 Trumbull Ave., at the famous intersection of Michigan & Trumbull.

The first field was at wooden Bennett Park (1896–1911) then at its steel and concrete replacement known by three names: Navin Field (1912–1937), Briggs Stadium (1938–1960), and finally, Tiger Stadium (1961–1999).

Stories shared from the book include those of the stadium itself, of those who played there, of fans and other characters who made a trip to the ballgame that much more memorable, and stories of the broadcasters who brought us the action when we could not be there in person.

Presented by Doc Fletcher. Signed copies of The History of Tiger Stadium: A Love Letter to Baseball at Michigan & Trumbull will be sold after the program.
