Grand Banks oyster bar purchased a decommissioned FDNY fireboat called “The Governor” at auction for $35,000.
The Governor was functional as a New York Fire Department boat from 1961-2005, even being used during 9/11.
The 97-foot long boat is currently docked at Pier 25 on the Hudson River. It travels at 11-knots and in 2017 will become a floating restaurant/bar that will cruise around the Hudson River.
