What is the March Madness Producer Beat Battle?

20-30 competitors versus each other. Each producer gets two 1-minute long beats. Audience response, your mix, if you’re sample-based or original, etc, all are factored into the judges decisions.

“I decided to do a huge yearly Beat Battle to coincide with the March Madness basketball tournament,” Uncle P says, “I felt it made sense because just like the brackets used to determine who plays who in the basketball games, I do the same thing placing the producers.”

Bonus:

Uncle P also runs the Urban Ambiance Radio station and hosts an annual “Beat Retreat” (all-night beat making party) every July at Hawk Woods Campground in Auburn Hills.

“My passion for helping producers caused me to start a all beats radio station called Urban Ambiance Radio and a yearly event i do called “Beat Retreat” where I rent out a camp ground in Auburn Hills Michigan and invite the Producer community to come out and have a good time in the woods socializing, sharing tips and playing their music creations for all in attendance. We have a couple camp fires, a lodge where we do the main showcasing and 6 cabins where we have a DJ playing and everyone can just hang and chill. This event is free to attend. There is a fee for the cabin rental if people want to stay over night.”
