Whoooo! Hell yes New Year’s Eve is on a Saturday this year! 2016 has been a bizarre and surreal year for everyone, you’re not alone, it was not an isolated incident.
Needless to say, we’re looking forward to a great 2017 and what a way to kick it off! Venture to Downtown Detroit and check out the 7th annual The D Drop @ Campus Martius Park!
The event is free and open to the general public.
There is also a 17,000-square foot VIP Tent, which is 21& up and costs $100.00 per person. Inside the tent there will be two stages and one of the best DJ’s in Detroit, DJ Zig-Zag.
DJ Zig-Zag is a true veteran of the Detroit scene. He’s collaborated with Raekwon of Wu-Tang Clan, Kid Rock, Margrave Pictures, and every year, because of him, the Town Pump Tavern throws the best annual Detroit Tigers Opening Day party (Fri, April 7th, 2017).
DJ Zig-Zag will be joined by DJ Ric-Nasty, another hot Detroit DJ. Also inside the tent there is a 40-foot long bar, midnight champagne and pizza and more!
The D Drop in Campus Martius Park, again a free event (unless you want the VIP tent) is Detroit’s largest NYE Celebration.
An actual “D” sculpture (designed by the Nordin Brothers) is dropped at Midnight. The event is all ages.
There’s live music, food, drinks, food trucks, wood-burning warming stations everywhere, romantic carriage rides, ice skating (8.00 entry, 3.00 skate rental; skating rink is open 11am-1am), and more!
The VIP tent is free until 7pm. It re-opens from 8pm-1am for the paid VIP’s.
