KALKASKA COUNTY, Mi (WPBN/WGTU)– A non-profit organization filed a complaint Tuesday in an effort to stop sandbar parties on Torch Lake.
The organization, called the Torch Lake Protection Alliance (TLPA), filed the complaint in Kalkaska County.
TPLA stated in a press release that they are “seeking a permanent injunction against all future sandbar bashes because they are a private and public nuisance and are held without legally-required permits under the Inland Lakes and Streams Act (ILSA), the Marine Safety Act (MSA), and Clearwater Township Ordinances.”
In order to prevent future parties, TPLA is asking the court not to issue those permits.
We wish our fellow partiers up north good luck!
