Electric lineworkers have to scramble up and down 40-foot high utility poles, typically in bad weather during power outages, to work on high-power transmission lines.
They also install telephone, cable, fiber-optic lines and more.
Every year, there is a journeyman lineman pole climbing competition call the Annual Michigan Lineman’s Rodeo to see who the fastest and most efficient climbers are.
To enter, it’s $75/team or $25 for apprentices.
