Started in 2010 by Dominic Riggio, the Frozen Fish Fiasco is an outdoor hockey series at the Clark Park Ice Rink (1130 Clark Ave, Detroit).
Over one dozen youth hockey organizations in the Metro Detroit area and a great lineup of Detroit Red Wings alumni compete for charity.
The cost is $5.00 per person.
All money goes to helping the Clark Park Coalition restore the Clark Park Ice Rink, which is the only full-size outdoor rink in the City of Detroit.
It’s a bracket-style competition and he final youth game is a battle between the Cedar Point Carp v.s. Faurecia Whalers.
On Sunday at 1pm, the final game is the UAW v.s. the Detroit Red Wings Alumni.
Ted Lindsay drops the puck. Red Wings players include Mickey Redmond, Dino Ciccarelli, Darren McCarty and more!
After the game, check out:
El Club, PizzaPlex, and The Mutiny tiki bar!
And warm up with some of the best Mexican hot chocolate you’ve ever had from El Palenque (5426 Vernor Hwy, Detroit). It costs $2.50 and the husband and wife owners from Guanajuato, Mexico prepare it by hand, it takes 15 minutes. Call for carry-out 313-849-1319.
