Every year, Detroit’s Bayview Yacht Club hosts the longest freshwater yacht race in the world, the Annual Bayview Mackinac Race!
Started in 1924, this is a fantastic race that is almost 100 years old.
Sponsored by Bell’s Brewery, the boats race a 298-mile long course on Lake Huron from Port Huron to Mackinac Island.
Over 250 racing yachts participate in this event.
People who have completed over 50 races are called “Grand Rams.”
Whether you’re a participant or a spectator, this legendary race is always a fun time!
